A training on basic understanding about Sex and Gender for selected Government officials conducted on 28th November at Hotel Oviya in Vavuniya.
Staff from Child and Women Development unit (CWDU) of 04 divisions, staff from Mental Health unit of Vavuniya General Hospital, Officers from Gender Based Violence Desk, Mental Health unit, National Child protection Officers, (NCPA) Midwifes from MOH office of Vavuniya North, and police officers from Puliyankulam participated. Altogether 26 Government representatives took part in the programme
The training programme technically facilitated by Dr. Surendran from Medical Officer of Health and Mr. Chanthirakumar – SRHR Consultant.
The programme comes under the project calls ‘’Creating basic understanding of Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights’’ (SRHR) among targeted vulnerable groups and Government stakeholders in Vavuniya and Vavuniya North DS Divisions & funded by RFSU
