In 1990, when there were food crisis and people of Vavuniya district faced multiple displacements, FORUT an International NGO came forward to help the affected people. These organizations later developed into village level social development organizations. Fifteen of these organizations formed into Federation of Social Development Organizations (FOSDOO) in 1995. Ms.Parameswary played an immense role in networking our organization with the Government and with various other organizations, which created an identity and recognition of FOSDOO.
Today FOSDOO has grown into a national level NGO with strong organizational capacity, with a commitment to work for the development of marginalized population in Sri Lanka and registered under NGO Secretariat as an NGO.
