Renganathan Mohanraj – Success story

17 yrs old, Renganathan Mohanraj is an active member of the impact club, with the willingness to learn for his future wellbeing and also he is guiding others too.

He is younger son of Renganathan & Rasamma and he is having 02 elder sisters.  His father (Renganathan) has abducted by unknown group on 2007 when Mohanraj was 06 year old and joined Grade 01 for primary school education. Abduction of his father has made her mother more depressed and she faced great difficulties to bring up her 03 children. Wages she earned from labour work did not sufficient to manage household expenses and educational needs of her children. Missing of father and depression state of mother has resulted with lack of parental care for 03 children especially for Mohanraj

who is young one of the family.  So, he discontinued his school education when he was in Grade 08 due to his family situation and started going to labour work to support her mother.  He has been very much affected by his family situation and he preferred to be lonely in free time. Even though, he has many good qualities like quick learner and good presenter, he could not maintain good peer relationship due to his short-tempered.  We observed his behavior for many days. Then, we met him for the first time when he was sitting alone under tree near his house.  We have convinced him to join the impact club for his wellbeing.

Now, he is actively participating in impact club activities regularly and mobilizing others to join the impact club. He is taking lead role in impact club activities particularly in organizing and involving common activities such as shiramathana (Cleaning work) and minor renovation of internal road.  His effort in filling the pothole in the internal road is high.

“Impact club has made a lot of positive changes in my attitude and behavior. Earlier my life was full of loneliness and hatred. Now, I am having many friends and we are helping each other in impact club activities. Also, I have realized my responsibility at my family and community. I value the opportunity and will make use of it for my personal development and as well for my family and society.” says Mohanraj.
